Yellow's Birthday

Yellow's birthday was in January.  Somehow it just got posted now.  Sorry for the confusion this may cause.  OK, so none of you would have been confused, but I know that when I look back on this, I will be.

Happy Birthday Yellow!!

8 years ago a couple was blessed with a baby boy.  Yellow came into this world via c-section.  Our Dr. was Caleb Liam and we were living in Gresham, Oregon at the time.  What a sweet baby!  Green and I were so excited to welcome our first child to our family and show him off to our families.  We love you so much and are so proud of the little man you've become.
I am so grateful for the kind big brother you are and the example you set in our family.  I hope that your dreams come true and that you know how much we love you.

LAGOON

On the 22nd of May I took Yellow and Blue to Lagoon.  It was their first time.  We went to watch my sister clog in the competition there.  My mom and nephew went also.
The first ride we went on was The BAT.  I buckled the boys in and sat behind them.    I tried to talk to them letting them know that everything was ok and that it was ok to scream.  I didn't hear a peep from them the whole ride.  When the ride stopped I hopped off and went to unbuckle them.  Yellow was shaking his head and looked like he was in shock and then Blue had eyes the size of quarters and his mouth was hanging open with a bit of drool off the side. It was so funny!!  Needless to say they would not get back on The BAT.

After that we went and rode a bunch of the other rides.  The kids were pretty picky about what they'd ride once they figured out that some were scary.  Their favorites were the ODYSEA, the JUMPING DRAGON, and TURN OF THE CENTURY.  We ate all the yummy food we could stand and then rode rides all over again.  It was cold so we tried to stick with the rides that didn't involve water.

I rode a new ride that I'll never ride again. It is called The ROCKET. One side of it shoots you up really fast and then drops you really fast and the other side takes you up slow and drops you really fast. I hated it. I always am afraid that I am going to die at Lagoon and scar some poor little kids for life when they see my broken, smashed, bloody body all over the concrete mixed with popcorn and ice cream.  Graphic I know, but true.  I also hate the ride that takes you over the park, you know the one with a bobby pin holding your cart onto a cable!!  I HATE that one.  I spend the whole time figuring out how I am going to get down if it stalls and then add my kid into the mix and how am I going to save us both.

Well, now you know why I don't go to Lagoon very often.  Not to mention the fact the Green gets terminally ill on a playground swing.  I love most of the rides, but the thought that I could die is always lurking behind me hidden behind the balloons and smiling faces of the 12 year old that is in charge of the ride!!

                                     LAGOON:  It's what fun is!!!

FEAR as a factor . . .

Do you believe in using fear to make your kids obey?  Think about it.  I remember when I was a little girl, my sisters and I would tell our little brother that the 'CARPET SHARKS' would get him if he didn't stay in bed.  It worked about two times and then he was over it.
Anyway, I am telling you this because our neighbors found a badger in their backyard and had DWR (Game and Fish) come and try to capture it.  We don't know if they got it,so I am using FEAR as a factor to make my kids obey.  I told them about how mean badgers are and that they could really get hurt so they need to 1) ALWAYS tell me where they are going, 2) Shut the door so the badger can't get in and 3) Pick up there toys so the badger doesn't take them. (I know the last one is a stretch, but they are REALLY scared.)
So mean mom or not, I'd like to thank the badger that may or may not be alive for scaring my kids into obeying.  (At least for today)

YARD WORK . . .

OK,so I have NO pictures to share. I was too busy actually working.  My kids on the other hand, well... here is the story.
We (meaning Green and I) have been working in the yard trying to get rid of all of the gravel in our dirt that is soon to be grass. We have a makeshift strainer made from a screen protector to shift the dirt and rock.  Our backs are sore, our moods are a little tense, needless to say we were very tired.  So we get the brilliant idea to have our kids come out and help pull weeds and pick up rocks.  (After all why do you have kids if not to have free slave labor?)
The kids come out and help for about 2 mins.  After they pick the top off of two weeds and maybe kick a rock they decide that they are done.  Me being me, I try to help our low spirits by singing a song. My Song:

Wadsworth children sang as they picked up rocks and rocks and rocks,
Wadsworth children sang as they picked up rocks and rocks and rocks.
They cried and moaned and swore they'd die,
Some of them even shed a tear and cried.
Day after day they sang as they picked up rocks and rocks and rocks  AND rocks.

For all you die hard Primary fans you know the tune.  So if you drive by our house and see headstones in the front yard you'll know that there we buried all hopes and aspirations of having our children ever help with anything!!  RIP

Graduation Day May 8, 2010

We are now the proud family of a Bachelor.  Green talked the talk and got to walk the walk.  We went to Laramie, Wyoming on the 7th of this month and had a real adventure when we finally found our motel.  Talk about DUMP!!  If I were more of a woman I would have slept in the truck.  Anyway on Saturday we went to the UW campus and got to cheer while our daddy, husband, son, grandson, and son-in-law recieved his diploma.  Green's parents and grandparents went with us and so did my mom.  We really have a great family that is so supportive and kind to travel for a day full of graduation fun!!!  Congratulations honey!!
You can now move your tassle to the other side of your cap!

Hats off to . . . .

These cute little hats are from ferrytailbows.blogspot.com.   I LOVE them.  Ok, I know it is getting warmer, but the thought of just pulling these little cuties on my girls' heads and NOT combing their hair is too irresistable.  My little willing models either squint or look daized.  I guess they come by the latter naturally.  Here are my sweet girls in their new hats.    LOVE THEM!!
